Go a little bit of strange problem with the P20.
When i login i get "VMware View connection error", when i log in on a hp5730t with the same account it works fine?
If i use another account on the P20 it works nice.
Why cant i login with my first account when it works on another thin client?

good catch paultwo thanks

i was doing some more testing and could not get past the connection to 3389 all the time.

tried setting the password and it works as it should once set.
i prefer not to have a password defined on a device that can be misplaced so i went back and deleted the password and it still makes the connection to the proper server and port but allows you to enter the password.
tried on another defined connection that was not working, set the password to a single letter, went back in and deleted the password, it still said saved and connected correctly to the login prompt allowing entry of the password.

so the basic thing seems to be adding anything in the password definition then deleting it and pocketcloud then works properly making the connection and the server prompts for the credentials.

rather strange this one slip through Q&A.

Even the new, Admin Service controlled implementation had some issues in 2.3, and hence an upgrade to WSM 3.x is reccommended if you face any problems with the DHCP Proxy Service.

With the latest WSM version 3.0.2, the DHCP Proxy service also works on a 2003/2008 R2 Server that is configured as DHCP Server. Please do not forget to create a new DHCP Option Tag 60 as string type with value PXEClient if WSM is installed on a DHCP Server.

Hi,

Does anyone know if wyse thin clients support multiple mouse inputs?

Basically, I would want to write an app using microsoft multiplepoint sdk and run it on a virtual machine, then use a thin client to connect to the vm and then I want to connect two mouses to the thin client (for example, one for each usb port on the thin client assuming the thin client has two usb ports). Will this work?

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Are you able to login the SQL database using the Same Rapport account?
If you don't have access to a SQL Manager GUI, you can test this from the commandline using OSQL.exe

Have you moved the database between SQL servers recently?

if you want to just set the terminal back to factory defaults..
then you can do that by holding the G key down when booting the terminal.
make sure to hold the key down untill you start to see the CE os loading.

if you want to update the CE firmware then you can go to the Wyse Download site and download the firmware for the model you have.
When I use a fat client to connect to the server, there's no problem.

You are connecting to View, so if your only assigned one desktop, it will automatically launch by default.
The connection you specify in your ini is not going to connect to View. It's a direct RDP connection. You have a broker and should use the direct RDP connection, unless this desktop is not brokered with View.

Your ini should not have the RDP connection in it at all. If you want to automatically connect to View without providing login credentials, you can use
DefaultUser= Password=

If you have more than one desktop assigned and still want one of them to auto launch then use the following command, make sure you are running WTOS 6.5.0_30:
VDIBroker=HTTP://your View server AutoConnectList={*|host1;host2;host3…}]

Also, remove the VirtualCenter= That is for a different function. The thin client should talk to the View server, not VirtualCenter.

This is my wnos.ini file. Wyse s10 terminal connect to ftp server and get current wnos.ini file.
But after startup terminal session "RDP Session 1" not connect automatically to View.
I have to put manually user/pass/domain and after that I can connect to View.
Autoconnect=0 \ or Autoconnect=yes \ not working also.
How to change wnos.ini file to automatically connect to "RDP Session 1"

Having an issue where my Windows XP VDIs CPU will max out at 100% CPU when the user opens different apps. It is not a certain app that causes this to happen, the only common thing is that TCX Suite 4.0 is on the VDIs. Once TCX is removed the issue goes away. I can give specifics if someone is willing to help. Does anyone have any insight on the root cause?

The WSM_Prerequisites.msi DOES also install the replication components for SQL Express 2005 that is needed on a Core Server in a linked site.

If you upgrade from 2.3 and you do not yet have the replication components installed, you can modify the components of the SQL install after the actual installation.

In regards to Volatile Cache mode and Auto-Update of Virus Definitions this may work or not according to your AV solution:

1) extend an existing VDISK so you get enough disk space to store the AV software and it's updates
2) create a new partition within the VDISK, for example D:
3) Install/configure the AV solution to store updates etc on D:
4) set the first partition to Volatile and the second to Persitant Cache mode

Tim,
In WSM 3.0, we have revamped our Content Distribution Service (CDS), which should solve most (if not all) of your problems with copying apps and OS images between servers
Why don't you give it a try and let us know the results?

We have a customer successfully deploying McAfee.
However, they are using R00Ls with 2GB of RAM.
You have to remember that all execution is local so a heavy app may require decent (R Class) HW
Here are some best practices:
Include the AntiVirus software in the base OS image.

All clients need this and it will not be immediately available on boot if it is a streamed application

Do a full disk scan on the C: drive only once in private mode.

There is no need to scan the C: drive when in Persistent or Volatile mode because no writes can be made to the base image, all writes are stored in the write cache files.

Use the On-Access feature of your AV software to monitor clients running in Persistent or Volatile mode.

This will monitor the changes made to the write cache files but will not scan the read-only base image

If a full disk scan is used on multiple units, the WSM Server will suffer heavy performance degradation. This is because multiple clients are trying to scan the same file, the virtual disk image, at one time

Disable the Auto-Update of Virus Definitions if using Volatile Cache mode, as all clients will attempt to update the definition files on boot which may cause the WSM installation to become unusable

WOL is not TCP, UDP or even IP. There’s no “port number”.
WOL is an OSI layer-2 “protocol” (effectively, just an Ethernet packet)
It’s simply broadcast on the subnet. It should be sent on the subnet of the client device.
